Promoting diversity in public procurement

In our report Promoting diversity: the power of procurement, the CBI showcases partnerships between CBI member companies and the public sector to promote diversity in the delivery of public services.

The experience of the companies featured in the report shows how achieving good outcomes on diversity and equality goes hand in hand with delivering high quality public services.

The case studies demonstrate that promoting diversity and tackling inequality in our communities does not need to be expensive or time consuming. Examples included in the report range from delivering welfare-to-work services in Cornwall to the contract to build the London 2012 Olympics aquatics centre in east London.

The report set out practical guidance for public bodies and their suppliers on how to use the purchase and provision of public services to improve equality and diversity in the communities they serve.
